Fencing Sports Academy's Fantastic Youth Fencers dominated the Fairfax Challenge RYC #1 Region 6 competition. As a club we had 55 fencing entries compared to the next closest competitor at 32 entries, FSA fencers captured an amazing total of 30 medals, including 5 GOLD, 6 SILVER, 6 BRONZE and 14 Top-8 Medals. By comparison, the nearest next competitor in the Washington, DC area got only 18 medals. Nobody came even close to the number of GOLD and SILVER medals that FSA fencers captured. Well done fantastic fencers and coaches.

FSA had multiple fencers venture off to compete in tournaments along the east coast this weekend, February 11th & 12th, 2017! FSA fencers won 6 gold medals and one bronze along with earning ratings for the 2017 fencing season.
Hadley Husisian, along with Nathaniel and Chandler Wimmer traveled to a Region 6 event in Atlanta, Georgia, where they competed in the Brent Nieman Epee RJCC and RYC held at the Atlanta Fencers Club. Hadley Husisian ran the table and won 3 gold medals at the event! She won The Y14, Cadet, and Junior women's epee events. Nathaniel won the gold medal in the Y10 mixed epee event. Chandler won the gold in the Y12 men's epee event. Nicholas Espinosa Gaviria traveled to the Cobra Challenge Div 1A/Div2 ROC held at Cobra Fencing Club in Jersey City, NJ. Nicholas Won the gold medal in the C & under senior men's foil event. On top of winning the gold, Nicholas earned his B2017 rating. Evran Walter competed in the River City Rumble held at the Richmond Fencing Club in Richmond, VA. Evran won the bronze medal in the C & under senior mixed foil event. Along with his bronze medal, Evran earned his E2017 Rating. Congratulations to all the fencers that earned medals this weekend!! Fencing Sports Academy is proud to work with the non-profit International Fencer Council. The IFC works to place fencers from around the world in fencing academies to encourage the globalization of the sport. The IFC is working with FSA to help provide an experience of world travel through fencing and has invited 5 foreign fencers to train here at FSA.

Training includes strategy, mental aspects, tactics, and timing. Tweak your best move to perfection! Improve the success rate of your weaker action! Individualized Instruction! Epee Sign Up Foil Sign Up FSA was represented by Carlos Lopez, Angel Daniel Calva, and Luis Moya in the 2017 Badawi Challenge RYC/RJCC held at the Austin Sports Center, in Austin, Texas, on February 4th & 5th 2017. In the event FSA came away with 5 top 8 finishes, of those finishes FSA fencers won 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal. In Y14 Men's Foil Luis Moya finished top 8. In Cadet Men's Foil Luis Moya again finished top 8 and Carlos Lopez took home the silver medal. In Junior Men's Foil Angel Daniel Calva finished top 8 and Carlos Lopez won the bronze medal. Congratulations Boys! Way to rope in the medals down in Texas!
Danny Campbell and Nina Saadat went off to Harrisonburg, VA, home of James Madison University, to compete in the JMU Open Tournament February 4th & 5th 2017. Danny Campbell took home the silver medal in the mixed epee event. Nina Saadat finished top 8 in the mixed foil event.
